Welcome letter/ Information regarding First Day of School

STUDENT FEES - Student fees for the upcoming school year will be 15$, and payment can be made through School Cash at https://hrce.schoolcashonline.com/  


FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL -Thursday, Sept 7 Bell rings at 7:50am


The first bell rings at 7:50 and classes begin at 8:00 everyday. It is important for students to arrive on time so as not to miss important instructional time.


Grade 6 students will go directly to the cafeteria –   Grade 6 students will enter the school through the main entrance and School Staff will be outside to direct students.


Grade 7 students will also enter through the main entrance and proceed directly to their homeroom classroom.  


Grade 8 students will enter through the doors by the basketball courts and proceed directly to their homeroom classroom.   


Grade 9 students will enter the building through the doors by the parking lot and proceed directly to their homeroom classroom.  


BUSSING INFO / DRIVING TO SCHOOL / PICKING UP AFTER SCHOOL:

If driving your child, please you the designated car loop/ drop off and do not restrict school buses.

The REPORTING STUDENT ABSENCE SYSTEM:
This year all schools will continue to use our new system for reporting student absences – you will be able to report future absences using an app, website, or toll-free phone number.  More info can be found at http://www.hrce.ca/SafeArrival if you haven’t already signed up for it last year.


LUNCH HOUR / OFF PROPERTY FOR GRADE 7, 8 AND 9 STUDENTS:
We are very lucky to have a cafeteria at this school.  The menus and information about payment, ordering, etc. are found on our website under the cafeteria link! https://rms.hrce.ca/rms/general-information/cafeteria-services-chartwells


Grade 7, 8 and 9 students will once again be allowed to go off property at lunch WITH PARENT PERMISSION.  We will be sending out permission forms for Grade 7/8/9 parents only regarding the permission form and the info they need about allowing their children off property. Off Property permission will begin September 11th, with signed permission forms.  Permission to leave school property is a privilege and a responsibility, not a right.  Students are expected to be good neighbors, and responsible students during any time off school property.
